Jon Bolton: In his own words…

Jon Bolton is now the US Ambassador to the UN. Paul Wolfowitz is president of the World Bank. What could possibly go wrong next?

It is nice to finally have solid quotes dictating what many people have known for years. The US is only looking out for it’s own interests. So when you stop to remember all the “humanitarian work” the US has done in the past try not to forget Bolton’s message. Roughly paraphrased…

If we don’t want to do it, we won’t let you do it either.

    How old ARE those clips?

Looks like early 90s. “Only power left in the world” is a clue.

Anyhoo. *sigh*. Whatever. Seriously. I don’t care anymore. The US can do whatever it feels like doing. Honestlty. Maybe this guy might push the UN into some action for all I know. Or maybe he’ll veto anyrhing that doesn’t interest the US.

I think it’s from 1994, cause that’s when this doc claims he said the stuff about the UN loosing 10 floors and not changing its effectiveness at all. You can check it out at these links…

As to Kevin’s statement, I’m not sure that this could be called “good” action if inaction is the current problem. When your ambassador claims his happiest moment in government was getting the signature of the United States OFF the International Criminal Court treaty seems to be counter productive to dealing with war criminals. And for those who agree with Bush when he said that the ICC is unaccountable, check out the following link to see some info on how the court works…

Anyhoo, I’d like to hear more of an argument against it rather than a simple “It doesn’t work.” Of course it doesn’t work. The US keeps getting in it’s way from doing anything useful.
